Whole House Well Water Filtration in North Carolina

Complete Well Water Filtration

Safe, Clean Water from Your Well

Well water gives you independence—but it can also bring iron stains, rotten-egg smells, mineral buildup, or even bacteria concerns. Many homeowners across Raleigh and surrounding NC communities live with these issues longer than they should. Orca Blue designs tailored well water filtration systems that target your specific water chemistry. The result is fresh, clean water flowing confidently from every tap in your home.

Common Well Water Issues in North Carolina

Hard Water & Mineral Buildup

Many private wells in NC contain high levels of calcium and magnesium. Over time, this hard water leaves scale in pipes, soap scum on fixtures, and stress on appliances. Our well water softener systems eliminate hardness so your plumbing, laundry, and showers feel cleaner and last longer.

Iron & Manganese

Orange or brown stains in sinks and toilets are usually iron. Black staining can point to manganese. Our whole house iron filter systems use advanced media and oxidation methods to remove these metals, improving taste and restoring clear water.

Sulfur (Hydrogen Sulfide)

If your water smells like rotten eggs, sulfur is likely the cause. We install sulfur water solutions that neutralize odor using catalytic carbon or aeration—so your water smells like nothing at all.

Bacteria & Safety

Some shallow or aging wells may carry bacteria. When needed, we add a UV water purifier for well water to neutralize bacteria and viruses without chemicals, adding an extra layer of confidence.

Our Tailored Well Water System

Custom Filtration Stages

After a free, detailed water test, we build your system based on what your well actually contains. This may include a sediment pre-filter, an iron or sulfur filter tank, a well water softener system, and optional UV disinfection. Each stage is designed to target a specific issue for complete whole-home protection.

How does the Maytag® ITR Series clean your water?

A diagram showing a single stage a better two stage and a best stage

Before water can enter your home, it must first pass through your Maytag® water treatment system.

Unconditioned water enters the mineral tank, which contains a proprietary blend of multiple filtering medias that act like a magnet, attracting undesirable contaminants to their surface and separating them from the water.

Then, the clean, treated water flows back up the riser tube to be distributed throughout your home.

The mid-plate distributor physically separates the media, allowing incoming water to be treated in the order that most thoroughly removes contaminants while also extending the life of the media. Our patented self-cleaning nozzle design improves efficiency further by creating a unique lift-and-swirl motion to completely fluidize the media bed, resulting in increased softening and filtration capacity.

Finally, treated water from the brine tank — the mineral tank’s trusty sidekick — recharges the filtering media so your Maytag® water treatment system can stay ready to treat your water 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Frequently Asked Questions About Well Water Filtration

  • My well water tastes metallic – can you fix that?

Yes. Metallic taste is typically caused by iron or manganese. Our iron removal filters eliminate these metals, resulting in clear, better-tasting water.

  • Do I need a UV light for my well water?

If bacteria is present—or if your well is shallow or older—a UV add-on is recommended. We test for bacteria during your free water analysis and advise based on real results.

  • How often do I need to maintain a well system?

Sediment filters may require periodic cartridge changes, and softeners need salt refills. Iron filter media can last for years but should be checked annually. Our maintenance plan keeps everything simple and dependable.
